Who are we?

What is our twinning for? To forge links with new Welsh friends, to create beautiful shared moments, to make our two towns shine and to get to know our cousins from LLANWRTYD WELLS better, so friendly and warm!

Festive and cultural events, meetings in Wales (UK) and here in France, school, sports and family exchanges… Everyone is welcome, whether you're already a member or not:

A few words about Llanwrtyd Wells (United Kingdom – Wales) and our twinning which has had a beautiful history (45 years of friendship and 25 years of official twinning), and is gaining strength with our new association this year:

• the "Can Do Community" spirit: many great events happen in Llanwrtyd Wells thanks to volunteers,
• hiraeth, a feeling of "homeland" and ideal home ("Hiraeth: a very Welsh feeling"),
• Welsh humour: quirky and good-natured, we'll tell you anecdotes: the "Man versus Horse" race, "bog snorkelling", what happened to the bear…),
• the authentic charm of its typical shops and pubs,
• breathtaking varied landscapes (mountains, valleys, forests and rivers – paradise for hikers, cyclists, horse riders and bird lovers, including the red kite…),
• culture and heritage in and around Llanwrtyd Wells (Pont-ar-Ithon, Cilmeri, Llanddewi Abergwesyn, mines, picturesque churches, Strata Florida Cistercian abbey…),
• fun activities in Wales (Children's Playbarn - Llangorse Multi Activity Centre - King Arthur's Labyrinth, Cantref Adventure Farm…).
